Tiger Woods is “awake, receptive and recovering” after an accident at Rancho Palos Verdes – Telemundo 52

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Famous golfer Tiger Woods Tiger Woods is “awake, receptive and recovering” after an accident at Rancho Palos Verdes, according to a statement on his Twitter account.

Woods underwent surgery after suffering several serious injuries to both legs during a spectacular car accident on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles County.

At a news conference, authorities reported that Woods was aware and able to communicate with officers when he was taken out of the vehicle with an ax and bars.

They added that they did not find evidence of disability and that they are investigating high speed and possible distractions behind the wheel as possible causes of the accident.

The accident, which involved only Woods’ vehicle, took place on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:12, between Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. The car crossed the lanes, hit a sidewalk, a tree and then rolled several times.

The athlete was the only person on board the car, which suffered serious damage.

The deployed airbags and the interior of the car remained virtually intact and this “gave him a pillow to survive the accident,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

Both legs were seriously injured, added the county fire chief, Daryl Osby.

Initially, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter that Eldrick “Tiger” Woods was taken by paramedics and firefighters from the wreck and taken by ambulance to a hospital.

His manager, Mark Steinberg, said in a statement that the athlete is undergoing surgery for leg injuries at this time. “Tiger Woods was in a car accident this morning in California, where he suffered several leg injuries.”

He added that “we appreciate your privacy and assistance.”

Scenes taken from a helicopter showed the car from the side, with the front end severely damaged and parts left around it.

The accident will be investigated by agents from the sheriff’s office in Los Angeles County at Lomita station. The results will take several weeks.

Tiger Woods receives the Medal of Freedom.

Woods was in Los Angeles for the weekend that hosted the Genesis Invitational tour of the Riviera, where he presented the trophy. He would spend Monday and Tuesday filming with GOLFTV, owned by Discovery, with which he has a sponsorship agreement. A tweet on Monday showed him in a stroller smiling at David Spade.

According to Golf Digest, also owned by Discovery, the television session consisted of field lessons for celebrities such as Spade and Dwyane Wade. It wasn’t played.

The 15-time senior champion last played at the PNC Championship on December 20 with his 11-year-old son Charlie. He had a fifth surgery on his back, a microdiscectomy, two days before Christmas and did not indicate when he would return. The Masters is April 8-11, and when asked if he will be there during the CBS show, Woods replied, “God, I hope so.”

A Las Vegas man risked $ 85,000 betting on Tiger Woods’ Masters victory.

This is the third time Woods has been involved in a car investigation. The most notorious was the early morning after Thanksgiving, in 2009, when his SUV hit a hydrant and crashed into a tree.

That was the beginning of the shocking revelations that he had cheated on his wife with various women. Woods lost a major corporate sponsorship, went to a detox clinic in Mississippi and did not return to golf for five months.

In May 2017, Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of a car parked awkwardly on the side of the road. He was arrested on a DUI charge and later said he had an unexpected reaction to prescription drugs for back pain.

Woods later pleaded guilty to reckless driving and checked into the clinic for help with prescription drugs and a sleep disorder.
