The secretary of the Family Department, Carmen Ana González Magaz, reported today, Monday, that the agency is investigating the death of a minor under the age of five in Ponce.
According to preliminary information, the girl complained of pain in her limbs and died a few hours yesterday after expressing herself in this way.

“As part of the investigation protocol, the hospital center was visited, the minor’s residence was visited and the collaterals were interviewed. Rigorous interviews were conducted with relatives and neighbors, “González Magaz said in written statements.
According to the official, no signs of violence were found in the house and the minor showed no signs of abuse. Likewise, the family has no previous referrals to the agency.
“The staff of the Family Department continues with the social investigation in order to elaborate the appropriate action plan in this unfortunate case”, added the secretary.
“We stand in solidarity with this family and with all the families who are going through a similar situation. As a department, we continue our commitment to the well-being of every minor on the island, ”he concluded.
