The Epic Games store relies even more on exclusives and there is a Spring Showcase this week

Expect many more Epic Store exclusives until at least 2022

The Epic Games store provides even more exclusives over the next two years, and at the end of this week, it airs a Spring Showcase event with announcements about the game (and hosts a corresponding sale).

The first bit is crucial and lays the groundwork for Epic’s ongoing strategy. In a statement to PC Gamer, a representative said that the store has “more exclusive products in the next two years than we have published so far.”

The list includes titles we know about, like this year Darkest Dungeon 2, and probably not many. There is also the issue of genDesign, PlayDead and Remedy, publishing offers with Epic Games.

Later this week, we will see “a clean collection of new ads, gameplay and extensive looks presented by the developers who create the games we all love” in a live event. Epic Games Store Spring Showcase will air on Twitch at 11:00 Pacific on Thursday, February 11th.

At this point, it is not known what Epic might have in hand – set IPs, fresh indie and everything in between. As long as these offers are offered and the terms are appealing, we will see more promising games related to Epic Store for at least a year after launch.

It really feels like this plan of attack could go on uninterrupted for a long time, long time.
