Fortnite is a pretty big business, earning developer and publisher Epic Games somewhere nearby infinite money every month thanks to expensive premium skins and a new $ 12 subscription service (Fortnite is a “free” video game, of course), but Epic will now make some of all that money that doesn’t involve funding bizarre and deafening ads against Apple. As reported by Deadline, the company supports an animated film by Latin American animation studio Hook Up and Argentine production companies DuermeVela and FilmSharks through its $ 100 million Epic MegaGrants program. Rather than a Fortnite movie about the guy with bananas and Travis Scott (the two best known Fortnite characters) fighting an army of teenagers who are much better at playing than they are, however, the project will actually be an original film based on The Epic of Gilgamesh. The film is just one of the recipients of the considerable grant.

Deadline says the film will be released in Spanish and English and will be made using Epic’s unreal engine – so don’t be surprised if it looks a bit like Fortnite, however The Mandalorian It also uses the famous unreal engine to power its virtual sets. For those unfamiliar with the story of Gilgamesh, he was a character from Mesopotamian mythology, with a large beard, who made various heroic adventures, and his story served as a source of inspiration for other mythological stories in history (such as be Iliad and Odyssey).

It is not known when this could happen or whether or not this movie will be available on Apple devices, but you’ll know it’s coming when an expensive Gilgamesh skin appears in Fortnite.
