Soho Karen, who allegedly accused jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold’s 14-year-old son of slipping his iPhone into a hotel, had two connections to the law last year – one for public poisoning and another for driving. intoxicated, according to a report.
Miya Ponsetto, 22, who NYPD sources identified with The Post as the woman caught on camera falsely accusing Keyon Harrold Jr., was arrested in Beverly Hills for public poisoning on Feb. 28, reported the Daily Mail, citing police reports and court files.
The case is still pending and she is due to stand trial on January 28, according to the press.
And on May 28, she was collared for drunk driving near Calabasas, a city in Los Angeles County where Kim Kardashian owns a large property, the Daily Mail said.
Ponsetto was reserved for four counts of contravention – two for driving under the influence of alcohol, one for driving with a suspended license and one for illegal use of a driver’s license, according to the report.
In September, she did not plead for any competition against the DUI charge. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 14.
Ponsetto was also named in a civil lawsuit involving an eviction for non-payment in August 2019, the press reported, citing court files.
The photos posted online with Ponsetto’s name seem to match the young woman who approached the boy at the Arlo Hotel in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.
“No, I’m not letting him go with my phone!” he screamed at one point, according to a video posted online by old Harrold.
NYPD Detective Chief Rodney Harrison this week posted a montage on Twitter of surveillance videos that also included a photo of the woman’s face with the word “WANTED” in red letters.
He said the NYPD “requests public assistance in locating the suspect in this video,” which he said “falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old of stealing his cell phone,” then proceeded with the physical attack and fled. from the location. “
On Tuesday, the woman told CNN that she was “worried” about the consequences – but maintained her claim that she had been assaulted during the incident.
She said that when she realized her iPhone was missing, she asked to see surveillance videos in the hotel lobby – and then asked everyone in the lobby to “empty her pocket” before settling on Keyon Jr. as her suspect.
“Then everything got a little more serious,” she told CNN in a telephone interview.
He then threw himself at the teenager and his father, who was defending his son.
During a fight that was not completely captured in the video, said old Harrold, the woman scratched and attacked the boy.
He said that shortly after the fight, an Uber driver appeared with the woman’s missing phone.
The NYPD said it intended to hit the woman with rapes that could include assault, theft or attempted robbery, while Mayor Bill de Blasio described the incident as “simple and straightforward” racism.
