Taylor Swift cancels the rest of the delayed Lover Fest tour dates in a bleak update

Taylor Swift was forced to disappoint many of her fans on Friday, when she announced that the remaining dates of the Lover Fest tournament would be canceled.

The 31-year-old singer-songwriter shared the bad news with a statement posted on her website and on her social media accounts.

She initially postponed some of her 2020 summer meetings until 2021, hoping to continue the performance, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has made this impossible.

“I like coming here to tell you the good news or to share a new project with you,” Taylor began. “It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t reschedule the shows I’ve postponed. Although the refunds have been available since we postponed the Lover Fest shows for the first time, many of you have been clinging to the tickets and I also thought about the idea that we could reschedule “, she continued.

“This is an unprecedented pandemic, which has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the tourist landscape will look like in the near future.

“I’m so disappointed I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to.” I miss you terribly and I can’t wait until we can all be safe again at shows together “, the singer concluded.

Many other performers have canceled their shows until 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, although some have followed Taylor’s original path of just postponing the dates.

In the first months of the pandemic, Ticketmaster offered refunds only for canceled events, while people with tickets to postponed shows were out of luck.

The ticket seller gave up later in the spring and allowed some venues to choose to offer reimbursements for deferred performances, although not all venues were willing to give people money back for late events.

It has changed quite a bit for Taylor from a musical point of view, since he originally planned the Lover Fest meetings.

The tour was to promote their then-new album Lover, which was released in August 2019 and quickly reached the Billboard 200 charts.

Against the backdrop of his pandemic isolation, Taylor changed course with the album Naked Folklore, which took a much more conscious and popular approach to composition than his recent pop records.

She followed it up with the surprise album Evermore, which doubled down on her art-pop inclinations.

Ahead of her disappointing news of the Lover Fest, Taylor happily celebrated the passing of the Equality Act in the House of Representatives by a vote of 224 to 206.

If passed in the Senate, the bill will amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes, in addition to race, religion, sex, and national origin.

‘YES!!! Fingers crossed and prayed that the Senate see trans and LGBTQ rights as a fundamental human right, “Taylor tweeted optimistically on Thursday.
