© NintendoNPD sales tracking data was disclosed Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Rage has had a strong start in the US in terms of sales. In the month of its release in February, the game was ranked as the best-selling game and the second best-selling game of 2021. In particular, this does not include its digital sales.
Here it is in the words of NPD analyst Mat Piscatella. The best-selling game of the year so far goes to the newest Call of Duty.
“Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury debuts as the best-selling game in February. The title also ranks second best-selling game from 2021 to date, despite a lack of digital tracking of sales for titles released by Nintendo.”
Please note that no sales figures were provided. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons were also among the top ten best-sellers of February 2021.
Super Mario 3D World seems to have been just as successful in other regions. In Japan, the game topped the charts and is estimated to have sold 250,000 physical copies in the first few days. In the UK, sales were 190% higher than the original Wii U, and the game was labeled the fastest selling in 2021.
