“SNL” moves away from Biden in the first episode since its inauguration

“Saturday Night Live” moved away from the Biden administration in its first episode since its inauguration – and the omission did not go unnoticed by some viewers.

The sketch show did not feature portraits of either President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday night, instead choosing to have fun at the controversial Rep. Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, the launch of the COVID-19 vaccine and the GameStop saga.

“Why doesn’t SNL make ANY sketches about Biden ???” one person grabbed it on Twitter.

Another spectator wrote: “Disappointed, I was expecting a stronger and funnier episode. Given Trump’s departure, Biden’s inauguration, and was it the first episode of the new year? ”

The show consistently relied on Alec Baldwin’s impression of former President Donald Trump during his term and falsified Joe Biden during the 2020 election.

However, after a break of a month, some were surprised not to see a Biden impression on the screen.

“I really wanted SNL to cover Biden’s Inauguration …” wrote a spectator.

Lorraine Ali, a Los Angeles Times television critic, noted that SNL “seems suddenly lost” without Trump and that the show “struggled to find its footing.”
