“SNL” host Nick Jonas assures his brother that they are still a band, then launches his own “Spaceman”

Singer Nick Jonas has taken on the dual role of host and guest of “Saturday Night Live” music – and assured his nervous brother Kevin that, yes, I’m still a band.

“I’m honestly so excited to be here and support you,” said Kevin, who was in the audience during his brother’s monologue. “And I have to ask, ‘Are we good?’ Because I see you do a lot of solo things. Are we another band? ”

“Of course,” Nick replied before later performing two singles from his solo album: “Spaceman” and “This Is Heaven.”

“Are you sure? Because I just bought a house,” Kevin asked again.

The band broke up in 2013, thanks to Nick. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas finally reunited in 2019 and soon released their fifth album, “Happiness Begins”. Nick’s solo album, “Spaceman”, will be released on March 12.

Jonas was musically invited to the show (sometimes with his brothers) four times. This was the first time he hosted.

Jonas added music to the monologue, prompting Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong and Beck Bennett to sing “Drink With Me,” a twist on the nostalgic camaraderie of “Le Miserables.” Jonas played the role of Marius in the concert “Les Mis” distributed in London in 2011 for the 25th anniversary of the song.
