GenDesign, the studio of developers who have previously worked on successful games such as Ico, The shadow of the colossus, and most recently The last Guardian, began to show what he is still working on. Although so far there is very little to see about this mysterious project, a new image of the game has recently been released.
On the official GenDesign website, the studio updated the front page of the site to present a new greeting to the fans in 2021. However, the website itself also presents an image showing four of the games that the studio has worked. on. The three titles mentioned above in Ico, The shadow of the colossus, and The last Guardian were presented in the image, the fourth game which is clearly presented being the last project of the studio.
As for what we can do with this picture of the new mysterious game, well, there isn’t much to see. In terms of its aesthetics, it seems to be in line with what GenDesign has worked on in the past and has a bright color palette. We can also see a character who seems to be wearing a kind of poncho standing next to what could be a boulder. Water and grass also surround this character.
Although GenDesign has not officially revealed what this new title will be yet, there are some key details about it that we know. It is said that work on the project began in 2018. Last year, it was also announced that Epic Games will fund the development of the game. GenDesign retains complete control and ownership over the IP while profits are split 50/50 between the two parties.
It is not known exactly when the latest GenDesign game could arrive, but based on this agreement with Epic, it should come on a variety of platforms. Despite the fact that it previously released all its games only for PlayStation platforms, now it seems that Xbox and PC players will be able to take action sooner.
Hopefully this initial teasing from GenDesign to start the year means that the studio is looking to share more about the game in 2021. If this transpires, we’ll obviously let you know here on ComicBook.com.
