actor Mark Wahlberg and his brother Donnie, a founding member of the pop group New kids in the neighborhood, announced on their social networks the sad death of his mother Alma, at 78, reported Variety.
The family matriarch had nine children with her ex-husband Donald Wahlberg: Donnie, Paul, Robert, Jim, Arthur, Tracey, Michelle, Debbie and Mark. They both divorced in 1982; Donald died in 2008.
Fans of both actors knew more than Alma thanks to A&E reality show, Wahlburgers, which focuses on family burger restaurant. The program ran from 2014 to 2019.
In a sincere tribute this Sunday, Donnie remembered his mother as a “warrior” and an “angel.”
“I am so blessed to have been brought into this world, raised, learned and placed in the path of my life by such an incredible woman,” wrote the producer and actor.
“My mother’s joy Alma for life, love and people, combined with pride in its humble beginnings and a refusal to forget where it came from, no doubt turned me into the man I am ”.
“She was, without a doubt, the most loving human being I have ever met. I’ve never heard her say or do anything disrespectful to anyone. “
Alma He “achieved the impossible” for his children, said Donnie, 51.
“This was Alma: mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend, ally, warrior, angel. He didn’t apologize for who he was, but he never put himself above the others.
“He kicked us in the ass if we were wrong, he kicked someone else if he messed with us. He taught us well, he made us pay the price when we were wrong ”.
Last year, Donnie discussed his mother’s health problems last summer, confirming that he suffered from senile dementia.
“I know many of you have asked what my mother is like. During my visit, I didn’t remember much and I was often confused, but somehow I was still Alma.
“It simply came to our notice then. It still made me smile. She’s still stubborn. And she still loves baby Donnie. Thank you all for your good wishes, “he wrote on the occasion.
Before death, Mark Wahlberg, who used to take her mother to awards ceremonies, shared a photo with her on Instagram Alma, next to the text: “My angel. Rest in peace”.
