Prosecutors are pushing to re-arrest Kyle Rittenhouse. Here’s how the case has unfolded since he paid bail

Wisconsin prosecutors asked for a warrant for Rittenhouse’s arrest on Wednesday, stating that he violated his bail agreement by not disclosing his address after his release. Rittenhouse’s legal team has thwarted the need to keep his location secret over claims of death threats against him.

There is a lot of attention for Rittenhouse’s case, especially as a cause celebre in right-wing circles. His supporters welcomed news Nov. 20 that he was leaving prison after an apparent fundraiser reached the required $ 2 million.

Now where he awaits trial is up for debate.

Rittenhouse is facing charges in Kenosha, Wisconsin, regarding the deaths from shootings of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and the injuries of Gaige Grosskreutz. Rittenhouse’s lawyers have maintained that he was acting in self-defense.
Rittenhouse left the scene shortly after the August 25 shootings and returned to Antioch, Illinois, where he was arrested the next day.
On October 30, he was extradited from Illinois to Wisconsin. The following week, his bail was set at $ 2 million because the court considered him a “flight risk,” said Loren Keating, Kenosha County commissioner.
Rittenhouse was released on Nov.20 after the $ 2 million bail was posted by Lin Wood, chairman and CEO of #FightBack, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

Requests for Further Restrictions

Less than two hours after his arraignment, Rittenhouse, now 18, was seen at a local bar with his mother on an outing confirmed by surveillance video, according to prosecutors.

In a motion filed to change the terms of Rittenhouse’s bond terms, prosecutors said Rittenhouse was seen flashing ‘the’ OK ‘sign, which has been co-opted by well-known white supremacist groups as a sign of’ white power ‘. and was “immediately served a beer by the bartender.”

In Wisconsin, it is legal for anyone under 21 to own and consume alcohol if a parent is present. Rittenhouse is legally prohibited from drinking alcohol in public in his home state of Illinois.

It also aims to increase the bonds by $ 200,000.
