Nintendo shares more information about the amiibo Power-up Band functionality of their theme park

As it was teased in the recent Live, you can use them with Switch

Recently, Nintendo shared more information about Super Nintendo World through a physical walking tour with Mario’s father: Shigeru Miyamoto. Was awesome! Go and watch him.

Back? Well, you may have noticed that at one point in the video, Nintendo teased the Power-Up bands (which are basically a form of magic strips from Disney parks) and some form of Switch functionality. Well, thanks to a new landing site, we now know a little more about how everything will work.

According to the site, amiibo will correspond to the character in the band. So the red band above with the red “M” for Mario will become “Mario amiibo”. Other bands match Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad and Yoshi. The tapes are used directly with the NFC Switch on Joy-Con or the Pro controller, but “are not compatible with 3DS or Wii U”.

Of course, the troops will also function in the park as a scoring mechanism, which interacts with various “activities”. I wonder how they will play in the US version of the park with long lines.
