One month from now, The hawk and the winter soldier hits Disney +, reintroducing fans of Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in an independent series set shortly after Avengers: Endgame. To celebrate the anniversary, Marvel Studios has released another quick teaser as a small gift for fans. Among other new photos of characters we’ve already seen, the teaser includes a quick photo of the American agent (Wyatt Russell).
Interestingly enough, Russell’s character has been retained for much of the marketing so far, as the exact same photo has been used so far in all teasers. Now you can see the character around the 17-second mark in the teaser, which you can see in full above.
Retaining any major photos of American agents is a particularly interesting choice, as Mackie himself said the series is largely a fight for the rightful owner of Captain America’s iconic star and stripe shield.
“You see, at the end of the Endgame, Sam didn’t accept the shield. If you remember, he told Steve [Rogers]”It doesn’t feel good because the shield is yours.” So, the show is a long way to find out who will be the captain of America, “Mackie revealed. “Where will the shield end up? And who will be the Captain of America and that name will return. Will anyone keep that name again? ”
“It’s a very good show, I was worried when I first heard it was streaming,” Mackie began. “That quality would be lost. That they would turn into this idea of what these movies might be and not be able to do the action sequences and they’ll give us the look we’re used to when it comes to these Marvel movies. The action sequences are amazing. The story is great, you really know the characters and you fall in love with the characters. As you can see with WandaVision. It just takes you further into the universe. So it will not disappoint. I’m glad people see her. ”
The hawk and the winter soldier Disney + premieres starting March 19.
