National Day of the Ugly Christmas Sweater: Celebrate with a festive poem

There is plenty of time this holiday season to shake the ugliest, most festive, Christmas sweater you can find. (They also have the Hannukah ones!) Throw it away for a Zoom party, a FaceTime meeting, or a small gathering in your quarantine bubble.

To get in the spirit, celebrate National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day with this festive poem.

Plenty of sweaters! It’s holiday season!

Now, please don’t ask why. Nobody really knows why.

The timing may probably be right.

There might be a Zoom party tonight.

It seems that the most likely reason of all,

They can be the big smiles I bring to everyone.

Make it festive or funny or snarky or sweet.

There may be a contest and someone to beat.

They come covered with sequins, sequins and bells.

Must be extra to sell.

Make it sticky and crazy to bring Christmas merriment.

Find one with Rudolph the Red-Nased Ren.

Whatever you do, just don’t be a Grinch.

Just make one at home if you’re in a pinch.

Grab the glitter! Go get ribbons and bows!

A string of Christmas lights will make sure it lights up.

Whos in Whoville will be very proud.

Your old and boring sweater is now ugly and hard.

When the day comes to close, hide it safely.

Anyway, you’ll have to wear it again next year.
