Napoli rules out a broken ankle for Hirving Lozano

The Mexican striker will miss the match with Torino with which his club will end its activity in 2020

Mexican international Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano, who retired injured this Sunday from the league game that Napoli lost to Lazio (0-2), suffers “severe trauma to his left leg,” according to his club in a statement after examinations at the Roman clinic in Villa Stuart.

“Chucky” Lozano, who has scored six goals this season in Serie A and one in the UEFA Europa League, went to Villa Stuart at the end of the game against Lazio and, according to the Neapolitan newspaper on Monday Morning, examinations ruled out fractures.

The Mexican left the field with ice on his injured leg without the need for a stretcher, but was helped by two members of Napoli’s medical team so as not to support his left leg.

The injury followed a strong collision with the Romanian defender of Lazio, Stefan Radu, while the two players fought for a ball on the right wing.

Everything looks “Chucky” Lozano will be left out of coach Gennaro Gattuso’s list for Wednesday’s match against Torino, with which Naples will close in 2020.

The southern team is in fifth place in Serie A, one point behind the Champions League area and eight behind leaders AC Milan.
