Mission accomplished with emphasis.
In Friday’s Rose Bowl college football semifinal between No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Notre Dame at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Harris did just that, jumping over an Irish defender Fighting during a 53-yard win in The first trimester.
The reason for Rapinoe’s request? Harris told a Rose Bowl news conference Tuesday that he was looking up at the American football star.
Harris is known to celebrate after scoring a touchdown with outstretched arms, as well as Rapinoe’s goal celebrations at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Here’s what Harris said about Rapinoe when he spoke to reporters weekly:
“Megan is going crazy,” Harris said. “She’s from California in the first place, and she listens to Nipsey. Nipsey Hussle is also one of my favorite rappers. He shouted.
“It simply came to our notice then. It is also feminist how women, how women in the world are treated unfairly and how different and different things are paid than men.
“She supports all this. I like how she does it. And obviously the social injustice that happens, plays a role in all of this. And for her to be a woman and say all these things, and it could be scary for her, because she is a woman in what they will say is a man’s world, and she just plays a role, standing up, not listening to everyone who says there and even saying what she believes in her, is motivating.
“I, as a man, think you could say, as if not too many men want to say they look at a woman nowadays. But I look at her, just for what she does outside of sports. And I think he had to shout other things at her. “
Alabama continued to beat Notre Dame 31-14, advancing to the national championship game.
