According to a report, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were slightly more involved in American politics than previously thought.
The pair had a one-hour video meeting with California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Oct. 19, less than a month before the presidential election, The Sun reported.
It is not known what Harry and Meghan discussed with Newsom during the meeting, which came at a time when Newsom was in the middle of deciding who will take the place of Vice President Kamala Harris in the US Senate.
The governor eventually elected Alex Padilla to follow Harris.
The kings are expected to stay out of politics.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already ruffled a lot of royal feathers, urging Americans to vote in the contest between then-President Trump and current President Joe Biden.
“As we approach November, it is vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity,” Harry said in September.
Markle added: “We are six weeks away from the election and today is voter registration day. Every four years we are told the same thing: “This is the most important choice in our lives.” But this is it. ”
The Newsom bureau, which declined to say what was discussed during the October meeting, did not immediately return a request for comment from The Post.
