Italian police are investigating on Thursday some alleged violations of the rules against COVID-19 by Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, striker of Juventus Torino, and his girlfriend, the Spaniard Georgina Rodríguez, who left on Tuesday and Wednesday for Courmayeur, in Valle de Aosta, despite the fact that it is forbidden to leave its region, Piedmont.
Aosta police investigated Cristiano after he and his girlfriend posted and then deleted a video on their social networks in which they are seen enjoying a day in the snow in Courmayeur, according to the Italian press.
Contacted by EFE, the Aosta police assured that at this moment they cannot provide details, because it is internal information.
Cristiano, who was not part of Juventus’ team in the Italian Cup match, won 4-0 against Spal de Ferrara on Wednesday, decided to travel to Courmayeur to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday.
However, Italian regulations to limit the spread of coronavirus provide that it is not possible to leave regions that are part of the so-called “orange zone”, such as Piedmont, unless planned extraordinary cases, such as travel, visit the second house.
