Hilary Duff opens up about how she felt “very hard” filming Younger’s latest season
Hilary Duff said she was excited about filming the end of her Younger series.
“Honestly it’s hard, it feels really hard,” the 33-year-old star told Brooke Baldwin, adding in Ellen Friday. “All the people in that show where a family and we all spent so much time, you know how to have children, marriages, divorces.”
The Houston native added: “Our characters have grown so much, we all grew up as a family.”

Most recently: 33-year-old Hilary Duff said she was excited to film the end of her Younger series in a distant appearance at Friday’s Ellen.
Duff said it was “strange” to break up with the cast and crew of the rom-com series, which played alongside Sutton Foster, Miriam Shor and Hilary Duff.
“I know I’ll see them again, but it’s weird, for seven years of my life I’ve based all my other jobs in the four months I’ve been in New York with the people in that crew,” she said. “Honestly, the crew that was so emotional was like I don’t know when I’ll see them again.”
In September last year, the show’s creator Darren Star told TVLine that the seventh season of the show was planned “unofficially” as his last.
The production for the sixth season of the show was made in September 2019, the coronavirus pandemic stopping the production of season seven until last autumn.

Star said the COVID-19 pandemic will likely be integrated into the show’s seventh season.
“Younger’s action resumes where he left off last season, which was before the pandemic,” Star said. “But I think we’re looking forward to putting it into action as the season progresses.”
Duff is currently expecting her third child – she is the mother of her daughter Banks, two, with her husband Matthew Koma and her eight-year-old son, Luca, with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.
In the episode, Duff said she wrote her latest children’s book My Little Brave Girl in her phone’s Notes app, opening up about the time frame that inspired the material.

Duff played the role of Kelsey Peters in the Darren Star series from 2015 to 2019
– Yes, in the Notes [app] by my phone, actually, ‘she said. I was going back to work and I had a really colic baby, so Banks was very attached to me and … not even four months after the birth, ”she said. “I’m back at work and 16, 17 hours on the set is not really a great place for a baby, so a lot of pain to grow up and learn how to separate … it’s hard to give up.”
She said that by feeding the baby, she appreciated Banks’ bravery in returning the baby from a “struggle” not to be with her mother as much as she wanted.
“It inspired this book,” she added, noting that she was holding her daughter when she wrote it.
