Here’s where the counties fall from the color-coded four-tier coronavirus reopening system – NBC Los Angeles

Last year, California unveiled a four-tier, color-coded system based on coronavirus conditions in each of the state’s 58 counties.

When first launched, about 94% of California’s population was below the most restrictive purple level. As of March 2, 40 counties were in the purple level; 16 counties were in the red level; and two were in the orange level.

As conditions improve and vaccinations continue, more counties are preparing to move away from the purple level and reach less restrictive levels of red, orange and yellow.

The map below shows that each county falls into the tiered system starting March 2. Updates are usually issued on Tuesdays.
