Former Michigan QB Joe Milton chooses Tennessee, sources say; has been in the college football transfer portal since February

Former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton plans to move to Tennessee, sources told ESPN on Monday.

Milton joined the transfer portal in February and is scheduled to graduate in May, which would make him eligible to play for Vols this season.

Vols are looking for a starting defender as they move on to new offensive rhythm coach Josh Heupel from freshman year. Milton started for Michigan in 2020. In five starts, he went 1,077 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions, but was replaced in Michigan’s last game a year ago.

The 6-foot-5, 243-pound milton will have three years of eligibility left and is listed as an active student in the Tennessee Student Directory. He is about to begin his academic studies in Tennessee with the summer semester.

Volquest.com was the first to report Milton’s imminent transfer to Tennessee.
