Epic Games has settled a 2017 lawsuit against a 14-year-old man Fortnite player who allegedly made videos on YouTube using cheating software.

As mentioned by PC Gamer, the court documents do not contain the details of the settlement. Epic sued the 14-year-old for the first time 2017, claiming that he downloaded and used cheating software and showed other players how to use it in his YouTube videos. Epic also claimed that the player infringed Epic’s copyright by using the cheat to change the game’s code and created a secondary tool. YouTube channel a ocoli a DMCA his video on Youtube. “The defendant is a deceiver,” Epic wrote in his document initial complaint, adding harshly: “Nobody likes a cheater. And no one likes to play with cheaters. ”

In response to the initial lawsuit, the minor’s mother wrote a passionate letter to the courts, disputing Epic’s claims and saying that the company “used a 14-year-old child as a scapegoat.”

Although it was wild for Epic to go after a minor in 2017, suing individual cheaters feels a little weird now considering how much Fortnite the cheat has exploded since then. The 2019 Fortnite World Cup was plentiful deceptive scandals in qualifications. In particular, the competitor of the XXiF World Cup received a temporary suspension for the team during qualifying and fans cheered his elimination during the World Cup match. Epic tried to revise himself competitive rules, but casual and professional players they continued to find ways to cheat in matches, especially in 2020 FNCS.

Many other gaming companies have been following the scammers lately. Last month, Riot and B.nail filed a joint action against the sellers of scammers, who at least follow the source of the problem, rather than the children who use them.
