In a recent interview, she was honest about how the pandemic affected her feelings about the role of a medical professional on television.

“It’s really serious what I’m going through, and if we could face those faceless health workers … people just hear about them or see them behind masks,” Ellen told People magazine last month.

“Even though we are behind the masks, so many people are familiar with our show and that was something to be taken seriously,” she confessed.

“It was a huge responsibility. We were so eager to take it on. I have to say that everyone in the show, all the actors, are very dedicated to him and are very excited to get something so significant to portray this season.
