Did Faith Hill and Tim McGraw list a private island in the Bahamas?

A nearly 20-acre private island in the Bahamas has just been listed for sale for $ 35 million – and appears to belong to country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Named L’île d’Anges, the pleasant retreat was the subject of an Architectural Digest coverage profile in 2017. The couple bought the island in 2003, but apparently did not move until 2012. In the story, they acknowledge that the spread a private residence required more work than they thought.

“We set out to build a house,” Hill told. “I had no idea we had to build anything else. We basically had to build a small town. ”

This included housing for staff, infrastructure for construction crews, water and electricity.

“Don’t put all that together at first,” McGraw said.

So over the course of a decade, the family – including the couple’s three daughters – remained in coastal yurts while the permanent home was being built.

“It was like camping,” Hill told AD. “The kids liked it!”

The two yurts are advertised in the list, marketed by Knight Frank, who adds that “they were originally built as temporary accommodation.” The story of AD also mentions that the house is a collection of eight “pavilions”, which in the list are described as “pods”, all being connected by almost 5,000 square meters of verandas and covered passages.

Knight Frank did not want to comment on this story. It is unclear whether the couple still owns the property, but a separate luxury real estate brokerage in the Bahamas – in a post on the 2020 blog – lists the island as theirs. It doesn’t look like the island has sold in the years since Hill and McGraw bought it.

Representatives for McGraw and Hill did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Also known as Goat Cay, L’île d’Anges has more than 1 mile of waterfront. The main house is perched on a high point in the center of the island and is 6,517 square meters. There is a wonderful room to entertain the family and guests – and the living room opens onto the pool terrace. Images in the listing also show an open kitchen and a dining area, private beaches and a dock.

The listing adds that there are four bedrooms, five bathrooms and, at the northern end of the island, about 6,000 square meters of secondary accommodation needed to operate the property. These include three staff houses, engineering facilities and mechanical storage.

L’île d’Anges is an 80-minute flight from Miami, as listed.
