NEW YORK (WABC) – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has new guidelines for those with basic medical conditions when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Officials say people with weakened immune systems and an increased risk of a severe coronavirus can get the vaccine.

However, the CDC says there is a chance that some will experience a reduced immune response to the vaccine.

Those with underlying medical conditions should check that they are not allergic to anything in the vaccine before taking it.
