Bucs GM is responding to the apology for throwing the Tom Brady trophy

The Buccaneers defend Tom Brady’s step by causing a little controversy.

Lorraine Grohs, the daughter of silversmith Greg Grohs, who made the original Lombardi trophy, apologizes to Brady for throwing out this year’s version “it’s if it was real football” to pick up Cameron Brate during the boat team championship since last week.

Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht responded to a tweet which included the video of Grohs’ story from Cape Coral, Florida’s Fox4, with a GIF of Warren Oates as Sgt. Hulka in the movie “Stripes” saying “Lighten up Francis”.

The throwing of the Lombardi trophy by Brady, 43, seen in a video that went viral Wednesday, was no laughing matter for Grohs, who lives in Fort Myers, Florida. Her father was a silver master from 1967-1994 at Tiffany and Company, who is in charge of making the trophy.

“A lot of hard work, a lot of hours go into it,” she told Fox 4. “I was really upset that this trophy was ashamed and disrespected, being thrown away like real football. I haven’t slept in the last two nights because of this. I was so upset because I know the passion that goes into this trophy and how my father and all his silver colleagues are so proud to do so. I would personally like an apology, not only to me, my family and the other silversmiths, but also to the fans. ”

Brady led the Buccaneers to a 31-9 victory over reigning champion Kanas City Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl to win the seventh Lombardi trophy. The future Hall of Fame defender also created a stir when he needed an escort to go back to land after the parade full of boats.
