New superhero recruits will be able to experience Disneyland’s Avenger Campus on June 4, Disney said at an Internet theme park on Thursday.

The new area is an extension of Disney’s California Adventure theme park in Anaheim, California and features Marvel’s most powerful heroes on Earth and stars.

“What I can tell you is that it’s great,” Josh D’Amaro told CNBC before airing on the Internet. “I think it will be an incredible addition to California Adventure. If you think about it [Marvel Cinematic Universe] and what’s happening on that front, as recently as “WandaVision,” is hot. It’s a hot franchise. And now we have the ability to open this up to the world. “

The park was originally scheduled to open in July last year, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, California theme parks have been closed since March 2020.

The two Disney parks in Anaheim will reopen on April 30 and will operate with a capacity of approximately 15%.

The new country has taken the place of A Bug’s Land and includes the Guardians of the pre-existing galaxy: Mission: walk to the edge of Hollywood Land. It will also include a new Spider-Man attraction, a dining location called Pym Particles Test Kitchen and an area based on Dr. Strange.

“We have the ultimate playground for Marvel,” D’Amaro said. “As fast as Kevin [Feige] and that the Marvel team can create characters and create stories, we can integrate them. “

Disney has already teased that the Spider-Man ride will be based on the World Engineering Brigade, also known as WEB, a company that gives ordinary people super powers. The attraction offers guests the chance to test their vehicle with a webslinger. While driving the vehicle, the little spider robots are released and you have to snatch them with your new belt powers.

Meetings and character encounters will be an important part of the Avengers Campus. Thor, the Black Panther, the Black Widow and many more will walk around the country – visitors could also see a glimpse of the cunning Loki.

D’Amaro teased over-the-top entertainment and technological innovation, including the potential for the company’s stuntron technology to be showcased in the country. Stuntronics is a project that Disney has drawn the curtain on again in 2018. In essence, the Disney Imagineering development team and lab have created a robot that can spin and browse the air like a real stunt.

In this case, the robot could look like a friendly Marvel neighborhood of Spider-Man.

“It’s just going to be glasses,” D’Amaro said. “It’s just going to be things you can’t believe are happening in front of your eyes.”
