Hundreds of people gathered to say goodbye and celebrate the life of the Salvadoran surfer, who died after being struck by lightning during training last week.

Ever since she was little, her passion was great and, as her sister Erica said, she herself had said that when she died she wanted to be fired here, on the beach, in La Bocana, where she ruled. There he wanted his ashes to be scattered. The letters they were given were burned and a large group of surfers headed out to sea to scatter them, along with many white flowers. It was his last wish.
Her brother “El Bamba” Díaz summed up the feelings of those present: “it has always been my motivation … it is a legend and, as they say, legends never die”.
Then, in a farewell act that included the religious part, he recalled the ephemeral nature of life and the importance of capitalizing on the ability to breathe, getting up every day. Katherine couldn’t take it after the lightning struck her.
