A Pennsylvania woman allegedly took deepfake images of cheerleading gym members in order to cyberbully them

According to the charges brought against her, Raffaela Spone has been charged with three cyberbullying of a child and three times of harassment, both crimes.

Spone reportedly bullied at least three girls who were members of the Doylestown Victory Vipers cheerleading gym during the summer, creating false images that made the girls appear “ naked, drinking alcohol and / or vaping, ” and texting. Jes sent phone numbers bought online urging a girl to “commit suicide,” the complaint said.

In December, a search warrant was issued for an IP address associated with the account used to purchase the numbers, which led police to Spone’s home, according to an affidavit accompanying the complaint.

Robert Birch, Spone’s attorney, told CNN he has not seen the evidence against his client, despite requesting it two weeks ago. The complaint was filed on March 3.

“I can’t comment on the evidence because I haven’t seen anything. We have every intention of defending this and pursuing this aggressively, to clear her name in this,” said Birch.

Spone’s daughter was once on the same cheerleading squad as the girls who were allegedly harassed, but the daughter left in 2019, according to Birch.

According to her attorney and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Spone is expected to appear in court on March 30.

The cheerleading gym did not respond to CNN’s requests for comment.
