Dustin Diamond, remembered as “Screech” from the “Save by the Bell” series, dies

Actor Dustin Diamond passed away today at the age of 44, after being diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago.

Recalled “Screech” from the series “Saved by the bell” had been hospitalized when it was known that he was in an advanced stage of the disease.

The news was confirmed by the American press The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

“Saved by the Bell” aired between 1989 and 1993, and his compositions included “Saved by the Bell: Years of College,” “Good Morning, Miss Bell,” and “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” in which he played Diamond in a sequel to Peacock was released last fall with many members of the original cast, including Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, Tiffani Thiessen and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

He starred in a handful of reality series, including the fifth season of “Celebrity Fit Club”, “The Weakest Link” and “Celebrity Boxing 2”. In December 2013, Diamond appeared in an episode of “Where Am I Now?” From OWN. and became a member of the house in season 12 of “Celebrity Big Brother.”
