Police Station Commissioner Colonel Antonio López Figueroa said the Uniformed Police are currently in the Luis Llorens Torres residential complex in San Juan, trying to find those responsible for a shooting that killed three police officers.
López Figueroa said in an interview with Jugando Pelota Dura that he was “trying to locate the person who was involved in the deaths of his police colleagues.”
“It’s a very sad day for Puerto Rico,” he said. – The cops were doing their job.
In this residential area, the authorities found the abandoned vehicle, from where the occupants started firing on the police.
It has been described as a 2003 white Hyundai Accent.
The Colonel called on the citizens and inhabitants of Llorens Torres to provide information to help find “the persons who committed this vicious act. That he helps us and cooperates with us ”.
On the other hand, the commissioner also assured that the FBI and other federal authorities are working together to clarify the facts.
Earlier, the secretary of the Department of Public Security (DSP), Alexis Torres, assured that he will lead to the last consequences, the “person responsible” for causing the death of the agents.
“For the people of Puerto Rico, I reiterate my commitment to investigate these events and to take the person responsible to the last detail,” Torres said in a statement on DSP’s Facebook account.
