A preschool teacher who was fired after 20 years won a $ 250,000 lottery

“It put me in a dark place,” Camp said in a press release from NC Lottery. “But I have a lot of friends and family who just told me to keep staying there, to believe in myself.”

But just when he thought life could not get worse, Camp won the lottery.

“On Thursday morning, I went to the store and bought a scratch ticket, as I usually do,” Camp said. “And I bought two tickets. I didn’t win the first one, so I tried the second one and scratched it and fell to my knees at the gas station.”

Camp, who is a father and grandfather, won a $ 250,000 ticket to Gold Rush, which he says he intends to use for his family. He says he wants to save for his daughter’s education and buy a new house that he intends to pass on to his loved ones.

“What I intend to do with my earnings is to have a future for my daughter,” he said. “I want to have something for us. I’ve never had anything. Nobody sent anything and that’s what I want to do.”
