Zach Parise of Minnesota Wild scratched for the Vegas Golden Knights – The Athletic rematch

LAS VEGAS – On Wednesday, there was a pretty big evolution in the morning skating of the Minnesota Wild at T-Mobile Arena.

Zach Parise, on the ice during an excessive change, when the Vegas Golden Knights tied Monday night’s game with an extra striker, will not play in Wednesday night’s rematch. Parise will be a healthy scratch for the first time in his Wild career and only the second time in his 16-year NHL career.

With the Golden Knights pushing the equalizer two nights ago, the veteran left winger did not change the line with Nico Sturm and Marcus Foligno in his last change. Parise would end up recording 1 minute and 33 seconds instead and played a role in deflecting Max Pacioretty’s cross-slot pass directly to Mark Stone.

Moments later, Stone defeated Alex Tuch for the equalizer in a possible overtime victory for Vegas.
