YouTube TV has announced that it is bringing more premium features to the service.

When it comes to finding the best over-the-top live cable TV serviceThe cost of the subscription is probably the most important thing for most consumers. But the features are just as important. A sports fan might prefer unlimited DVR space, while a family of four might prioritize viewing on multiple devices. YouTube TV expands its feature offerings with a newly announced “Add-on” option to stream 4K shows or save them for offline viewing.

YouTube TV’s master plan currently supports six individual user accounts and up to three simultaneous streams. But YouTube says the same 4K supplement will also support “unlimited simultaneous streams at home,” which could be an attractive feature, for example, for larger families or in multi-person households that share the cost of the plan.

All of this is very interesting, but YouTube does not share the costs of the package now. When Gizmodo is asked for comments, a spokesperson would only say that the benefits will be included in “an optional supplement for members”. (Hulu, for example, charges $ 10 per month in addition to its monthly subscription costs to support unlimited streams.) Also, the timing is unclear, and YouTube had nothing to share when contacted for comments.

The features are definitely a welcome addition to an already excellent cable alternative, but prices will be key. The basic YouTube TV package – without any premium content through supplements like Starz or Showtime – already costs $ 65 a month. This is the same cost Hulu with Live TV, but both start to get quite expensive if you feel wild with additional entertainment packages and premium features.

However, 4K streaming sounds promising. And especially now, while we are surrounded inside, the best possible flow would be worth taking out a few extra dollars a month.
