URK, The Netherlands (AP) – Outraged youths protesting on the first night of a Dutch curve-covering hour set fire to a coronavirus test facility and threw fireworks at police in a Dutch fishing village.

Police said on Sunday they had fined more than 3,600 people nationwide for violating the extinction from 9pm on Saturday to 4:30 a.m. on Sunday and arrested 25 people for violating the crookedness or violence.

The video from the village of Urk, 80 kilometers northeast of Amsterdam, showed young people entering the coronavirus test facility near the village port before it was lit on Saturday night.

Police and the municipality issued a statement on Sunday in which they expressed their anger at the riots, “from throwing fireworks and stones to destroying police cars and setting fire to the test site as a deep point.”

“This is not only unacceptable, but also a slap in the face, especially for the local health authority staff who do everything they can at the test center to help the people of Urk,” local authorities said, adding that the weather would be strictly applied for the rest of the week.

On Sunday, all that remained of the portable building used for coronavirus testing was a burnt shell.

Amsterdam police were also preparing for another protest on Sunday, sending officers to a market where protesters clashed with police a week ago. The city’s municipality has designated the square as a “risk zone”, a move that has given police extra powers to confront people.
