Resident Evil Village is difficult to separate from its main antagonist, Lady Dimitrescu. The bastard was one of the biggest points of discussion of the sequel, but it seems that few of us could have pronounced her name correctly.
That’s at least according to Capcom, which advised Brittney Brombacher, the host of the latest Resident Evil Village Showcase, on the correct pronunciation. You can hear Brombacher pronouncing his name in the video below, which explains why he eventually came up with Capcom.
I received some questions about Lady Dimitrescu’s pronunciation! Capcom informed me on how to say it correctly (believe me, I asked him) and they approved the takeover, so take that for what you want. 😉 https://t.co/GsZuUviEuV
This could be surprising given the spelling of the name and some estimates of how it might be pronounced from the natives of Romania, a country that strongly inspires the vague European context of Resident Evil Village.
The way you pronounce the name may not be so important while playing Village, however, which will make you explore four distinct areas according to the most recent map revealed and face not only Lady Dimitrescu , but also with her daughters and her vile brother. The latest trailer for the game also sheds light on the mysterious lead role played by Chris Redfield and how he might know more than he leaves the protagonist Ethan Winters.
Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and PC. A new demo will be released next week for PS4 and PS5, with limited time to play it. It will be launched on all other platforms on May 1.
