Xbox will host a Bethesda-related event next month

Microsoft announced last year that ZeniMax Media and its subsidiary Bethesda Softworks will be acquired by the corporation and will be included in the Xbox Game Studios line in 2021. However, apart from the general announcement of the acquisition, the Xbox team did not talk too much. much about what this move will mean to move forward for all sides. That being said, it seems that the silence will end soon.

Mentioned by GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb in the latest GamesBeat Decides podcast, it is said that Xbox intends to host an event of some kind related to Bethesda in the near future. Grubb says this will be one of the flagship events the Xbox has as it leads to E3 2021. “Once the deal is over, they will talk about it in a big way. I don’t know if it’s going to be like a full live event, but they’re going to write it down and talk about it in detail and explain what it means to everyone, “Grubb said.” Expect this to happen in the middle of the month. March”.

The reason why Xbox has not already supported such a presentation is because, as Grubb mentioned, the transaction for the acquisition of Bethesda has not yet officially transposed. While the announcement of the intention to purchase the publisher was made last year, the business is not ending for a few more weeks. As such, Microsoft had to remain somewhat quiet about what it intends to do with Bethesda and its studios, otherwise it would break the law.

Although we still don’t know exactly what Xbox intends to do with Bethesda, one of the biggest questions many fans have been about how the exclusives will work. Previously announced games like Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 which was thought to come on all platforms in the future (including PlayStation) could now only be linked to the Xbox and PC. The Xbox team did not provide any details on how it will handle the exclusives, before saying that each game will be treated on a case-by-case basis. This future event could shed more light on the situation for the future.

Obviously, if we hear anything about this showcase, it should be relatively soon. As such, we will be sure to keep you posted here on ComicBook.com if it is officially announced.
