Xbox Series X / S for improved fast replay features

New Quick Resume features are coming to the Xbox Series X and S. New updates, including the ability to view and delete Quick Resume save states to make room for other games, are being released inside the Xbox right now. If you’re unfamiliar, Quick Resume is an Xbox-exclusive feature that allows users to suspend multiple games and switch between them in their free time.

The news was revealed in a series of tweets from Eden Marie, Chief Engineer at Xbox. Marie’s tweets talk about how Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders will now be able to see which games are stored in the quick resume from the Xbox UI menu, under My Games and Apps. Users will also be able to see if the game they are currently playing is compatible with fast replay, so they can make decisions about which rescue states to keep and which to get rid of.

Xbox Insider updates are released in a test capacity, but it usually doesn’t take long before they’re released to all users. In this case, the changes should make it easier to identify games that will allow you to resume quickly in the first place, as well as save space, eliminating saves from games that can return quickly to which you do not intend to return.

In other Xbox update news, an exclusive feature inside that allowed users to pause games to speed up downloads was official presented to every Xbox user yesterday. Xbox Cloud Gaming is also in limited beta for Apple devices and computers starting today, April 20th.
