Xavi gets his fourth title as coach of Al Sadd in Qatar

Spanish coach Xavi Hernández won his fourth title as Al Sadd’s coach, where his compatriot Santi Cazorla also plays, defeating Al Arabi (2-1), in the Emir’s Cup final played at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.

Two goals from Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah gave victory to Xavi’s team, which unites this title, second in the Emirate Cup after last year, to the Qatar Super Cup and Ooredoo Cup trophies, a qualifying round played only by teams from high category in Qatar.

All the goals of the clash came in the first half. Al Sadd took the lead after three minutes, in an action that began with a shot by Cazorla that reached Bounedjah’s boots, which took the ball into the net.

Twenty minutes later he equalized Al Arabi, where the Spaniard Marc Muniesa plays, thanks to the Icelandic Aron Gunnarsson, but at the break, the Algerian striker scored again. It was his second goal and the winning goal of Xavi’s team, which kept the income until the end to seal the title.

The Spanish coach already obtained this trophy as a player, in 2017.
