WrestleMania 37 Lashley retained the WWE title; McIntyre remained unconscious

Raymond James Stadium, Tampa /

What a way to start WrestleMania! After the rain delayed the start of activities at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for more than half an hour, the wait was worth it, as the first fight was nothing more and nothing less than WWE Championship between two of the most imposing gladiators, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre, but had to give up.

Bobby Lashley came on Drew McIntyre

The biggest challenge in Lashley’s career came at age 44, for the first time as the highest monarch of the fighting empire and against a rival who in the previous edition of the Immortal Showcase defeated Brock Lesnar in just five minutes.

A physical and sometimes wild struggle considering the tonnage of both, punishments that would break a bone or at least leave him lying in bed for weeks. The fight was all he promised, they punished themselves until they were exhausted, but McIntyre could never apply his own Claymore Kick by MVP interference, Lashley’s manager, who with that role outside the ring was the key to his protégé’s victory.

WrestleMania 37: Fight for the WWE Championship

When McIntyre seemed on his way to regaining the title after performing The future DDT shock, MVP entertainment allowed Bobby Lashley catches the Scotsman twice in his tireless Hurt Lock with whom he surrendered absolutely to all he faced.

This time, Drew did not give up, but the pressure exerted by the monarch was such that he remained unconscious on the canvas., so the referee rang the bell to prove it victory for Lashley, who thus retained the WWE Championship.
