This happens in the post-credit scene of Wonder Woman 1984
The scene begins with a woman walking through a crowded market. She turns her back on the audience, but we are determined to believe that she is the wonderful woman because of her dark and wavy hair.
The woman prevents a ray from hitting a child in a stroller. The girl’s mother calls her and asks her to thank the stranger. The woman turns and reveals this not Diana Prince, but another Themysciran named Asteria.

The mother praises her name and Asteria shares that it is a name in her culture. When asked how he managed to save his daughter, Asteria says: “It’s just a simple weight change. It takes practice. But I’ve been doing this for a long time.”
Asteria then glances at the room and leaves. The scene then ends, announcing his role Lynda Carter as Asteria in the movie.
Lynda Carter performed the original Wonder Woman on television
Lynda Carter played the heroine during three seasons, from 1975 to 1979. The series began on ABC before moving to CBS in the last two seasons.
The actress recently recalled that her own daughter fell in love with Gadot’s version of the iconic Warner Bros. character. to a virtual event. DC Fandome in august.
“Mom, I finally understand. I finally understand why everyone idolizes you,” she said, recalling the conversation.
It’s quite appropriate for the film to reveal that Carter was Asteria. In case you forgot, Diana (Gal Gadot) mentions Asteria earlier in Steve’s film. She tells him that Asteria was the best warrior of the Amazons.
“When mankind enslaved the Amazons, our mother set us free,” Diana told Steve. “But someone had to stay behind to stop the wave of people so that others could escape.” That’s where Asteria came into the picture.

“My people gave up all armor to make their suit strong enough to conquer the whole world,” Diana added. “Asteria sacrificed itself for a better day for others.”
Asteria allowed the Amazons to flee to Themyscira, an island inhabited only by women seen at the beginning of “Wonderful Woman 1984”. As Diana speaks, we briefly see a flashback showing only Asteria’s eyes as the men surround her in their golden armor.
Diana tells Steve he’s been looking for her since 1918, but he only managed to find her armor. He uses it at the end of the film to confront Barbara Minerva, who at that time became the main enemy of the Wonderful Woman, cheetah.
Will Asteria be in the new Wonder Woman movie?
Does this character ever appear in comics? Yes, but he is a different character. Asteria is mentioned twice in DC Comics.
The version of the film does not seem at all related to the iterations of comics, but only to tell the story of the first appearance of Asteria is number 1 in 1998. “Elseworld’s Finest: Supergirl & Batgirl”, where he is a growing member of the Justice Society superhero group in a parallel universe.

Asteria later appears in a unique comic from 2018, “Aquaman / Justice League: The Drowned Earth”, like a bird running alongside Wonder Woman.
In a later issue of the “Justice League,” Diana says she is named after one of her Amazon sisters who “fought the gods.”
In this sequel, Diana suggested that she searched for Asteria without success for years. If there is another “Wonder Woman” movie, maybe a third installment will reconnect them..
It is currently unclear whether Warner Bros. plans other “Wonder Woman” projects and, if so, it would probably take some time if Patty Jenkins will return to the helm. He recently announced that he is working on a movie “Star Wars” for Disney.
