“Women govern”: Paquita la del Barrio enters politics and will seek deputies

popular Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio, 73 years old, will be announced on Monday, as a candidate for the local council in the eastern state of Veracruz by the party The citizen movement (MC).

According to information on social networks, Francisca Viveros Barradas, the real name of the singer, accepted the performance and will fight for the district of Misantla, which belongs to the city of Alto Lucero, where the artist was born.

Delegate of the Citizens’ Movement in the respective region State of Veracruz, Miguel Castillo, published this weekend a video and messages in which he appeared with the singer.

“Soon we will surprise you and you will know that we are making two people from El Alto together with an orange heart,” referring to the color used by that political institute, Castillo said in a message.

In addition, he warned that on Monday they will announce the news at a press conference that will be broadcast by the social networks of the party, of the liberal ideology.

Paquita la del Barrio is known for its interpretation farm songs and suggestive titles, which have been classified as “hard and against them” because they are aimed at men.

Among the songs that the singer gave her the stamp are “I fooled you three times”, “Two-legged rat”, “Women send”, “Old raboverde”, “Evil men”, among many others.

The most famous, “Two-legged rat”, is an anthem against the men with whom Paquita stopped singing in the bars of the popular colony (neighborhood) Guerrero and went on the big stages.

Castillo also pointed out that Movimiento Ciudadano is in talks with television actor Francisco de la O, who, if he agreed, would run for local council for the city of Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz.
