Witness Odebrecht says the funds were allocated to Víctor Díaz Rúa

Santo Domingo, RD.

Mauricio Dantas Bezerra, a Brazilian witness in the alleged Odebrecht bribery trial, said he did not remember how much the Conrado Pittaluga company had paid, but added that it was worth several million dollars.

The funds were earmarked for former public works minister Víctor Díaz Rúa, he said.

This is a continuation of the statements of Dantas Bezerra, who on Friday said that Ángel Rondón and Conrado Pittaluga are the people to whom the Brazilian company made payments to obtain works contracts.

On Monday, he said payments to Pittaluga were made by the offshore structured payments sector. He mentioned that there were payments through the companies Lashan Corp, Neoport, Comansa.

He indicated that the payment information was obtained through the accounts of individuals, collaborators and individuals. Based on these accounts, Odebrecht searched for collaboration documents to provide to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).

Odebrecht searched the information in the databases, the Drousys system and extracted it thanks to an expert from the GR Complain company.

The trial on the Odebrecht case continues on Monday, in which six defendants are accused of receiving a bribe for $ 92 million from the Brazilian company to receive works contracts from the Dominican state.

The hearing is being led by Judges Jissel Naranjo, Tania Yunes and Gisselle Méndez.

After Dantas Bezerra, witnesses Rodrigo Maluf Cardoso, Marcelo Hofke and María Eugenia Batista will appear.
