The Board of Directors of the Bank for Economic Development of Puerto Rico (BDE) ratified today, Saturday, the appointment of the Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi – of the famous producer and financier, Luis Alemañy, as its president.
Alemañy has a diverse professional experience and this is the first time that a producer has been the CEO of BDE. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with honors from the University of Puerto Rico, a master’s degree in industrial management from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and a degree in entrepreneurship and business from BabsonCollege. In addition, he has more than 20 years of experience in operational management, manufacturing, administration and financial issues at companies such as American Tools, Toshiba, Baxter Healthcare, 3M Caribbean and Pepsi, where he has worked as CEO and Chief Financial Officer. . .
In 2019, the businessman became the president and founder of SJT Manufacturing, a company focused on the manufacture and distribution of precision metal parts, exporting to global multinationals.
Alemañy also serves as director of the district board of the Puerto Rico Convention Center, where he is part of the decision-making process and project development for improvements in the Urban Gulf, the Colosseum in Puerto Rico and the Convention District.
The nine-member Board of Directors of the BDE is chaired by the Executive Director of the Financial Advisory Authority and the Tax Agency, Lcdo. Omar Marrero.
