ORLANDO, Florida – The Winn-Dixie Supermarket will begin distributing the coronavirus vaccine free of charge throughout Florida starting next week.
The parent company Southeast Grocers says it has received 8,100 Modern vaccines, which it will distribute under the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, in partnership with CDC, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Florida Department of Health.
The vaccines will be distributed free of charge at some Winn-Dixie, Fresco y Mas and Harveys supermarkets in the state starting Thursday, February 11th.
The vaccines will initially be given to health care workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, as well as adults aged 65 and over, according to Florida guidelines.
A list of Winn-Dixie locations is not yet available, but a website is created where customers can get more information and finally schedule an online meeting once the locations become available.
This information is available on the Winn-Dixie website.
