During the questioning by Víctor Díaz Rúa, Dantas admitted that it did not acknowledge in the documents submitted the bribery payments by Odebrecht to Díaz Rúa or some of its companies.

Last Friday, the witness said that both Díaz Rúa and those involved Ángel Rondón and Conrado Pittaluga received bribes from the Brazilian construction company to obtain works contracts in the country.

Dantas Bezerra admitted that he was not present when the payments to the defendants were made, so his testimony is based on documents extracted from databases by the forensic company GR Compliance.

When asked about the proof of payments made by the Brazilian construction company, Camacho pointed out that the witness said that they were found in the corroborating documents that were incorporated in his testimony.

“At the time of the closure statement, then the Public Ministry will use these supporting documents to complete and fully explain the case theory (…) you will be able to see the physical evidence that there is that these transfers were made,” he explained.

Regarding the deletions and reversals found in the GR Compliance documents, the magistrate stated that “I cannot answer this issue at this time” because the court requested “no details to be disclosed”.

Camacho reiterated that a case is not proven only by a witness, because the evidence that is incorporated and the statements of other witnesses must also be taken into account.
