Vladimir Natera Abreu and Joset Jomar Rivera Verdejo, accused of drug trafficking by authorities, were arrested on Sunday during an operation by the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and the United States Marshals.

Natera Abreu is designated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the leader of the Puerto Rico Cantera Revolutionary Forces drug gang (FARC), in addition to being considered the largest drug trafficker in Puerto Rico in the Dominican Republic.
According to FBI files, the FARC has been active, involved in, since 2007 sale and “large-scale” distribution of cocaine, crack, heroin and marijuana in the Barrio Obrero area of the Puerto Rican city of San Juan.

Joset Jomar Rivera Verdejo, was arrested in the Dominican Republic in 2018 for his apparent role in the gunned-down death of drug trafficker Carlos Giovanni Báez Rosa, aka “ Tonka, ” but was later released because no link was found.
