White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that President Joe Biden’s administration “does not spend much time thinking” about former President Donald Trump.
Asked if Trump’s absence on social media has made the new US administration’s job easier or if it has facilitated negotiations on the new stimulus package due to the COVID-19 crisis with Republican members of Congress, Psaki pointed out that, “While it’s hard to believe,” the executive “doesn’t spend much time talking or thinking about Trump, former President Trump, to be clear.”
In this sense, he has pointed out that it would be “more appropriate” to ask the Republicans in Congress whether the New York tycoon’s absence in public life “gave them space.” “I can’t say we miss him on Twitter,” Psaki said ironically, the television network CNN reported.
However, he has avoided saying whether Biden supports Trump’s removal from social media. “It’s a decision by Twitter,” he said, noting that the Biden team had already referred to the “need for social media platforms to continue taking steps to reduce hate speech.”
