WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. – UPDATING: No explosives were found in the truck that stopped on a Tennessee highway. One person has been arrested.
Tennessee authorities closed a road east of Nashville after stopping a box truck that they said was playing audio “similar to what was heard” before a recreational vehicle exploded in downtown Nashville on Christmas Day.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter that law enforcement officials had closed a section of the highway in Wilson County, just east of Nashville, on Sunday to investigate a white box truck parked on the side of the road. Authorities had sent a robot to investigate the vehicle, as officials stood back and watched the situation.

Sheriff officials said the truck played the audio when it was parked near a convenience store at the Crossroads Market in Walter Hill around 10:30 a.m. The driver left the parking lot and was stopped by sheriffs’ deputies in nearby Wilson County. Officials said the driver has been stopped by police.
A Wilson County dispatcher said the road that was closed was Murfreesboro Road between Cedar Forest Road and Richmond Shop Road.
Deputies said they had also evacuated residents in the area as they continued the investigation.
Before the RV exploded on Christmas Day, there was a recorded warning calling for evacuation, and then Petula Clark’s 1964 song ‘Downtown’. Sheriff officials did not specify what the box truck was playing.
